ROPA
Resolution 2121 of the Federal Council of Medicine (2015) recognized and qualified the same-sex stable union as a family entity. Thus, shared pregnancy in a homo-affective union became allowed. Known as ROPA, the Partner's Egg Reception enabled the creation of new families with the effective participation of a couple of two women.
One of the women undergoes hormonal treatment and obtains eggs. Embryos obtained by in vitro fertilization are transferred to the partner's uterus. The recognition of dual motherhood has crossed barriers and is now possible.
